Touching the Lives of Americans ™
Our Dogs...
Our mission and purpose is to enhance the lives of Veterans {and their families} with disabilities by providing them with a trained service dog to help them increase their independence in every day life.
This includes Veteran heroes whom have lost limbs or have P.T.S.D. {Post Traumatic Stress Disorder}, T.B.I'S {Traumatic Brain Injuries} and NEED the unconditional LOVE and SUPPORT from a dog. Kids and other family members as well as the Veteran hero as P.T.S.D. is a family disease.
ALL of the dogs in our program come from City/County impound facilities.
Our Vision
To have a sanctuary where we can house Veterans and have them be
included in the training of the dogs.
A place where he/she can feel safe and LOVED while learning about his/her dog and have them
involved in the training process.
To have a sufficient number of employees to manage a growing organization.
To be financially independent with funds available to those clients who need assistance with the fundraising process.
To provide as many Veteran families as possible, with a trained service/emotional support dog under the definition of the Americans with Disability Act
The dogs in this program are ALL hand picked for temperament and disposition. They are ALL from local City/County impound facilities looking for a new start in life.
These dogs will be trained for a variety of special tasks. Some will be trained as P.T.S.D. {Post Traumatic Stress Disorder} service dogs, some as Emotional Support Dogs and some will be companion dogs.
Each of the dogs in the program will go through extensive training and be matched up with the perfect human partner.
So many of our Military heroes are coming back from war diagnosed with P.T.S.D. and are given a bag of psychotropic drugs and a high five see you in six months to get your next bag of drugs. Many are told by their doctors that a service dog would be a great option but alas they are cost prohibitive for many at a cost of any where from $12,000 to $75,000. Not many people can handle that cost.
Rescue Me Corporation™ {Incorporated}. and Touching the Lives of Americans ™ knew we had to help... and we are.
The dogs we train as listed above will all be provided FREE of charge to the recipient/s.
Donations will be raised for each dogs training but NEVER will the recipients absorb any of those fees... EVER!!!
People have asked me many times WHY we would choose to use a "Power Breed" in our program. Well, that's easy to respond too.
The media has portrayed the American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bulldog and what we call Pit Bulls as such dangerous dogs that when people see them they immediately cross the street and avoid them for fear. What a shame as they are missing out on a great opportunity to meet a great dog.
So, why not use that {and thank you media} in our benefit??? Well, we are!!!!
If we have a military soldier/HERO and he/she has boundary issues, why not use one of these so called 'power breeds' to help keep people from invading their personal
spatial boundaries??? It's brilliant, this also allows us to EDUCATE people about
these amazing dogs and inform people just how terrific they are.
Dogs are NOT born mean or aggressive, it is the human at the other end of the leash
that has to take responsibility for the dog they bring into society.
