Our Military Heroes
On this page it is our pleasure and honor to introduce you to the Military heroes that have served our Country and are now willing to share their stories with the world. We salute them all!!

Mylee has to be one of the strongest most beautiful women I have ever met. I KNEW we wanted her on team, Touching the Lives of Americans™.
Mylee YC served in the US Army on Active Duty for over 12 years and Retired March 2014. She worked as a Civil Affairs Specialist and an instructor to initial entry Soldiers, preparing them for the mental and physical expectations of their Jobs.
In 2011, Mylee was selected to be one of the first women to train and deploy as part of the Army Special Operations Cultural Support Program.
During her deployment, she enabled U.S. Special Operations Teams to gain cultural insight, gather information on enemy activities, and help promote governance for Afghan families. Unlike many female Soldiers, Mylee found herself supporting those Special Operations units in remote parts of Afghanistan.
It was during this deployment that she discovered a mass in her left breast. She made the decision to continue her tour while keeping a close eye on the lump. Upon returning in March of 2012, she underwent an ultrasound, which led to a surgical consult and ultimately, a diagnosis of Breast Cancer. She under went a radical double mastectomy, chemo and reconstruction surgery all while still be in the active Military. All while being a single mom to an incredible little girl whom was right by her side the entire time.
Mylee YC is applying the same mentality that she has used throughout her military career; just keep fighting and never give up.
Mylee also suffers from PTSD {Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome}
Now having had her reconstructive surgery she is moving on with her life as a model, single mom and a member of team Touching the Lives of Americans™.
We are honored to have her with us.
Lance Cpl. Alex Minsky is an Afghanistan Veteran injured in the line of duty resulting in serious and life threatening injuries. Alex was only 24-years-old and a proud U.S. Marine whose right leg was amputated by a roadside bomb in 2009 while he was serving in Afghanistan.
Alex's team was sent out to help with an over turned truck when his life changed forever.
His truck drove over an IED in Afghanistan in 2009, which subsequently landed him a coma. {He still has no memory of the accident} Upon wakening up in the hospital he realized his life was very different.
Losing a leg and being in a coma were far from the end of his ordeal it was just the beginning for Alex.

Alex suffered from depression and turned to alcohol to cope until he decided to fight back by stopping the drinking and starting to work out. The gym was his new drug. He KNEW he had to get healthy or else... A Purple Heart recipient and HERO!!!
Alex posts updates to his Facebook page daily and serves as an inspiration to other people with disabilities... and even those with out disabilities.
Touching the Lives of Americans™ is honored to have this true American hero on our team!!!
He spent 47 days in a coma and suffered traumatic brain injuries and severe burns to his body, his jaw had to be wired and plated back together from the explosion. He then spent one and a half years in recovery fighting back to regain the use of his body.

As the son of a Vietnam veteran, Shilo Harris always knew he wanted to be a soldier. Shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, he enlisted as a Cavalry Scout in the US Army. In February 2004, Harris deployed to Iraq with the 1st Infantry Division, where he participated in dangerous reconnaissance missions and armed combat.
On February 19, 2007, deployed, again, to Iraq with the 10th Mountain Division, Shilo’s armored vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED). The explosion killed three of Shilo’s fellow soldiers and wounded the driver. Although Shilo survived, 35% of his body was burned and he lost his ears and several fingers. Shilo spent 48 days in a coma, followed by nearly three years in recovery at the burn unit of Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.
Shilo was medically retired from the Army in 2010. Today, he is a motivational speaker who shares his unforgettable story of triumph over adversity. He lives in South Texas with his wife and five children. -
